Robert D. Hollis V Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was developed in the memory of Robert D. Hollis V, the son of Brother Robert D. Hollis IV and nephew of founder Kevin Hollis. Robbie died in a tragic accident at the early age of 3 years old in 2004. Even though he didn't have the chance to grow into the great man he would have been, we will never forget his free spirit and love for life. In the remembrances of him it is our attempt to recognize young individuals who have admiration of continuing their education past high school.

Mary Carter Golf Tournament

2011 Tournament Brochure

This golf tournament was developed in the memory of Mary Carter, the mother of Brother Richard Carter. Mary Carter was an active member of the community for many years as she devoted countless hours of her life to Boy Scouts of America and various other community centered activities. She was a dedicated teacher in the Lansing area for over 25 years where she taught English and served as a mentor to many young men and women. Mrs. Carter also supported and encouraged the use of sports to invoke discipline and pride in today's youth. Mary Carter passed away in 2004 after a long bout with cancer of the lungs. In her remembrance, we have established The Mary Carter Golf Tournament to help others in their fight against Lung Cancer and to promote financial stability in inner-city athletics.

Proceeds from the golf tournament will be appropriated to The American Cancer Society & Brothers For Life Inc.

Samaritans Feet Event

Samaritan’s Feet, founded in 2003, is a humanitarian relief organization based in Charlotte, NC that puts shoes on the feet of children all around the world. With over 300 million children going without shoes everyday, their goal is to provide 10 million pairs of shoes to 10 million impoverished people in 10 years. To date, nearly one million pairs of shoes have been collected for children around the world.

Brothers For Life, Inc. and a host of gracious community organizations/residents will be partnering with Samaritans Feet to ensure the Lansing community is impacted as well.  During the event, the youth will have their feet measured for adequate shoe sizing, then escorted to a “Foot Washer” who will wash their feet and place a new pair of socks and shoes on their feet.
